Mastering The First Dance

Some couples take classical dance lessons for their first dance, others wing-it high-school style and lastly, we have our clients who go all out for their first dance as Husband + Wife!

Check out our two favorite first dances, ever. Pure Luxe Brides: are you up to the challenge to beat these?

Our first is from a wedding while we were operating in Philadelphia, PA. Meet Brian + Michelle, married July 2009 in Horsham, PA. Pure Luxe Bridal Consultants handled all of the details of their big day, except for this one! They were even able to keep the secret from us!

Our second is from one of our more recent Charleston, SC weddings at Magnolia Plantation and Gardens beautiful Veranda. This one we were well aware of, and were able to capture from start of finish.

First Look? Just DO It!

You know the old saying, "The Groom can't see the Bride before she walks down the aisle" think again! I can't relay how important it is for the groom to see the bride in an intimate setting. Yes, forget tradition! Maybe I'm just being selfish because I not have one picture of my groom seeing me for the first time on my own wedding day. Yes, we did have fabulous photographers but that means nothing if you don't get the shots you want.

Just consider it. First look. First glance. Sneak peek. Whatever you want to call it, do it. Break tradition and get one of the images that you'll want to remember forever.

Here's exactly why we LOVE a first look.

Welcome to the Luxe List: Richard Bell Photography

I seriously think 2012 is the year of fun brides and amazing vendors! We're so excited for a busy fall season, and working with Mariah + Tom at the gorgeous Magnolia Plantation Carriage House.
Not only is that our favorite venue, but we're working with some of our favorite people- Richard Bell Photography included! If you've never seen the amazing work of their team, shame shame! We find them out at Magnolia Plantation with our brides quite often, and we'll be working together a ton in 2012. To keep up with the gang at Richard Bell Photography, check out their Facebook Page they practically post shots daily!
Mell Bell was so kind to share some work with us for the blog of Mariah + Tom who are getting married in September 2012. Take a look at their fabulous engagement pictures at Magnolia Plantation and around beautiful Charleston.
They spanned their shoot over two days and got some great shots, even if it was raining!

Below is my absolute favorite shot from their shoot. Brides-To-Be, don't stress about rain, if you have a good photographer they will capture the moment in the perfect light, even if it's raining! Look at how sweet this picture is!

Thank you again Mell for sharing these gorgeous shots with us! More to come from their big day in September, and  John + Jessica's big day in just a few weeks.

Sneak Peek :: Sarah & Steve

I'm totally stealing this idea from a coordinator friend, so thanks, Danielle

I grabbed a few snapshots of Sarah and Steve's wedding day in Eagles Mere via my iPhone and the Instragram app. I'll have to go into more depth about all the amazing details of the day, but that needs to wait for another day.

Congrats to the new Mr. and Mrs. Lange!

Real Wedding :: Tory & Dale

This Sunday marks Tory and Dale's first wedding anniversary, so I felt it appropriate to do a post remembering what a gorgeous day they had last June! Not having known the bride for that long, and never having met the groom until 30 minutes before the ceremony, I was struck the whole day by how perfect for each other and how insanely in love these two were. As they read their own vows to each other, I had to stop myself from some watery eyes, and when they took to the dance floor to have their first dance, it was impossible to see just how much they lit up in each others' arms.

Selecting a local winery to serve as both the ceremony and reception venue, the bride came up with complementing details to create a romantic, semi-rustic, and intimate event. Like I tell all my brides, "Prioritize what really matters ... the rest will find its way." And Tory and Dale did just that.

The following is just a sample of my favorite images from their day courtesy of Cardens Photography. Happy anniversary, Tory and Dale! Thank you for allowing Pure Luxe to be a part of your gorgeous day!
